In May, my husband and I went to Kauai for a week by ourselves while our daughter and our dog played with Grandma. It was an incredible experience with beauty beyond words OR images. Putting these photos together for this post, I miss it so much (especially since we're hitting the hundreds now in Temple, ouch). Everywhere you turned was indescribable beauty of every kind -- mountains, farmland, oceans, deserts, etc. It's unbelievable that it exists on one tiny island. We chose to go to Kauai because our research told us that it was the most scenic with the best hiking which is what we wanted to do while we were there. We did some ocean swimming and beach lounging as well, but mostly when we were on the beaches we were going for walks. If we ever go back to Hawaii, we will almost definitely go back to Kauai. There was so much more that we wanted to explore, and it just had a very low-key non-touristy vibe to it that was really relaxing. Here are some of my favorite photos from the trip!
(These last three are just some iPhone pics...)
