At Home In B&W

Andrea and I were good friends our sophomore year of high school. In our shared chemistry and algebra classes as we'd share stories and try not to get caught by our teachers chatting about non-school work, she would always talk about this guy named Dave that she had a huge crush on. As we laughed and told stories in our classes throughout that year, I got to hear all about all their first moments and see her clap her hand to her mouth with giddiness during her stories. Seven years later, they were still together and got married. And now they have two sweet, adorable, and happy boys with a third baby on the way. It was so fun catching up with my old friend, especially in a session as awesome as this -- pajamas and pancakes and playing around the house, a typical Saturday morning for them. I feel so honored that they invited me into their home and let me be a part of it. Their home had such a warm and loving feeling to it, so full of love. And it was fun to realize that even if we had met now as adults with responsibilities and children rather than as children ourselves that we would still be friends.

Enjoy some images from their session. And check out the plum throughout almost the entirety of the photos. We were cracking up laughing. It was so random that their 1.5 year old decided to bring a plum back to bed and munch on it for an hour. Adds so much character to these images. I adore it.

Blowing me kisses...

As the boys played, Andrea got started on the pancakes...

He knows what he's doing with this butter. Put a ton of it on the pancakes until you can hardly see the pancake anymore...

...and then clean the extra right off the knife.

Prayer time. Such a sweet image.

Saying bye to Daddy as he goes to work...
